Conventions of Opening Scenes
- The name of the film.
- Most significant cast and crew.
- Production company name/logos.
- Indication of genre - shown through the lighting/music/setting.
- Setting [Location] - usually through the use of establishing shots.
- Main character/s [protagonist, maybe antagonist].
- Sense of threat, danger and tension.
- Mood (eg. music and sound effects, type of shots, location).
- A narrative enigma - a sense of mystery of whats going to happen.
